1st day. Rome , Assisi, Perugia , Florence ( 360 km) . Departure at 08:00 am from Rome by coach to Assisi, St. Francis and Sta. Claire mystical centre . Free time to visit on your own the Basilica of St. Francis containing the most important series of frescoes in he history of painting , from Giotto to Cimabue . Lunch in a typical restaurant . In the afternoon proceed to Perugia , capital of Umbria region and jewel of the medieval art .Time at leisure to walk around or to visit the National Gallery of Umbria , containing paintings of masters as : Beato Angelico , Piero della Francesca, etc. Arrival to Florence . Overnight at the hotel . 2nd day .Florence. Breakfast at the hotel .Guided tour of one of the most famous cities in the world , cradle of the Italian renaissance. The city tour will be a walking tour visiting the magnificent downtown including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore , with Brunelleschi’s splendid dome and Giotto’s belfry, Piazza della Signoria , with the great Loggia, the Museum of the Academy with the statue of David by Michelangelo, Ponte Vecchio, etc. In the afternoon we suggest an optional tour to the Uffizi gallery . Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight . 3rd day. Florence, Ravenna , Venice ( 320 km ) . Breakfast at the hotel . Depature to Ravenna , city of art and culture , city of mosaics , city which 1500 years ago has been three times capital : of the Roman emperor of Occident , Teodorico king of the Goti and of emperor of Bizantio .Those events grant a presence of monuments, today’s declared human patrimony . Proceed to Venice , unique city for its enchanting atmosphere of streets, canals and bridges. Dinner and overnight. 4th day. Venice . Breakfast at the hotel .Morning tour of the city of Casanova , visiting St. Mark’s square , the Bridge of Sighs and the prisons .Afternoon at leisure . It’s suggested to take an optional excursion to Murano , Burano and Torcello. Dinner and overnight. 5th day. Venice, Verona , Milan , Baveno (370 km) Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Verona , free time for lunch and visit the city of Romeo and Juliet. Famous for its Roman amphitheatre known as one of the best arena of Opera in Italy, visit of the evocative square of the Herbs and the imposing tombs of the Scaligeri family . Leaving Verona to Milan and short panoramic visit of the Dome , Gallery Vittorio Emanuele II and the theatre La Scala , one of the most celebrated in the world. Continuing on to Baveno, fascinating city on the board of Lake major . Dinner and overnight . 6th day. Baveno. Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. We suggest to make an optional excursion to Lugano( Switzerland). Dinner and overnight. 7th day. Baveno, Cinque Terre, Pisa , Roma . Breakfast at the hotel . Departure to Porto Venere , town celebrated in the year 1338 as a panoramic marvel of the golf “della Spezia” by Petrarca ( poet) . History and legend get together, although the maritime itinerary of imperator Antonio Po ( 161 A.D. ) gives the security the village exists since the Roman period .
