| Si trattà in realta di una collina artificiale formatasi tra il 140 a.C. e il 250 d.C. a causa dell'accumulo delle "testate",ovvero frammenti e cocci di anfore usate nei vicini"Horrea",cioè magazzini .Alcune anfore si rompevano durante il trasporto.Il suo valore archeologico è stato scoperto solo alla fine del XVIII secolo.Dal Medioevo la zona intorno alla collina fu usata dai romani come campo di giochi.Oggi il monte da il nome ad un intero quartiere.Passando per questa zona si possono vedere i detriti mischiati alla vegetazione della piccola collina,ma di giornonon è molto interessante da visitare.Durante la notte invece numerosi locali.discoteche e club di tutti i generi la rendono una tappa obbligata per gli amanti della vita notturna. | |

| This place is an artificial hill formed between 140 BC and 250 AD. The phenomenon results from the accumulation of the "testae" which are in fact amphoras fragments used by the neighbours "Horrea" (traders) . Many amphoras were used to be broken during the transportation. The archaelogical value of this historic site was determined at the end of the 13th century . During the medieval age the peripherical zone was used as a playground . Nowadays Monte Testaccio is the name of the entire neighbourhood . If you have the opportunity to go there you will probably notice the mix of rocks and vegetation, but it will be more interesting to visit the place by night because of the disco bars , the clubs for all generations, this place is for those who want to have fun. |
