| E la tomba di una famiglia di grandi generali davanti a cui si arresero parecchi nemici , come gli abitanti dell'allora Algeria e Asia Minore .Il più famoso fra questi fu Scipione l'Africano, che sconfisse Annibale il cartaginese nella famosa battaglia di Zama del 202 a.C. Molti reperti ritrovati, come sarcofagi e urne funerarie di pregevole fattura e alto valore storiografico, sono conservati nei Musei Vaticani , e qui sostituiti da copie. | |

| This tomb is in fact the mausoleum of a family of great generals , who had won a lot of wars against the main empire's enemies like Algeria and Asia Minor. The most famous of them is Scipione the African who beat Hannibal during the famous Zama's battle in 202 B.C. A lot of funeral urns and sarcophagus had been found and are preserved in the Vatican Museum because of their archaeological importance but unfortunatey the items exposed are copies. | |
