| Questo sontuoso mausoleo fu edificato per la figlia di Metello Cretico , conquistatore di Creta nel 67 a.C. Tomba di epoca tardo repubblicana , è del tipo a torre cilindrica e la merlatura venne aggiunta nel Medioevo, quando i Caetani la adattarono a torrione difensivo del contiguo castello di loro proprietà. I resti del maniero fanno ancora parte della struttura. | |

| This sumptuous mausoleum was dedicated to Metello Cretico's daughter's memory.He was the conqueror of Creta in 67 B.C. The republican age style of the building has the shape of a cylindrical tower. The Caetani added the battlements when they decided to use the mausoleum as a means of defence to protect their castle which was situated near the building. That is why the manor's remains are a part of the mausoleum's structure. | |
