This was the second fix theatre of Rome. Ordered by Giulius Caesar to emulate Pompeo's Theatre, it was built between 13 nad 11BC from Augustus that dedicated it to Marcellus, son of his sister Octavia and that had died in 23BC. The travertine façade is 2-story high with 52 archades, now only 12 remain, the first in dorich style and the second in corynth style.
